Check the model template file. I'm not sure if "treat degree 1 Spline as polyline" is a part setting, or not. If it is, you'll need to change it in the template file (aka start part, aka seed file)

Right click on "constraints" in the assembly navigator, and toggle ON "display constraints in the graphic window". Now you should be able to select them, and figure out what they apply to.

You can edit the constraints to make the arrangement specific. That way, when you toggle between "open" and "closed", the constraints will turn on/off as needed.

That's why I don't like modeling in "rigged" space.
When I have to do it, if I can't wave link the mating data into my file, I usually go with your option 2. That way I can move the datum planes, as needed. If something changes, that requires an angle change that wasn't accounted for, you can...

I'm looking for a copy of the old "fasteners_english.zip" that John Baker created, prior to the current Siemens Machinery Libraries. I found a copy of the "fasteners_metric.zip" that I stashed away, but not the english.
Anyone have a copy they would share?

This was useful for finding invisible objects on layers, but it doesn't seem to work in NX12 now. Maybe someone can update it?

Any one know what this symbol is? It seems like I've seen it before, but not in recent time. It seemss like it might be a surface finish, or something?
If you recognize it, do you know what spec its from?

If you use Edit, and not Edit With Rollback, does it behave the way you want?
I never used Direct Sketch, and found it confused new users with two sketch tools.

Remove the extra .pax files from the Templates folder, or Templates\startup folder. Depending on which method you are using.
I still get the DMU tab, it appears to be hard coded, at least in NX12.

This is what I have for my adjusted NX120.bat file so far. Still trying to figure out what should go in for some of the env variables. Does it look like I'm on the right track?

@kscnoname quick question, I just had a few minutes to reread your suggestions, and do some experimenting...I noticed you say "NX & WGM net-install to work". To be clear, we are installing both WC and NX locally, and only putting the NXcustom stuff on the network. Does all of this still...
One option: You could make the cable a deformable component, so the length would adjust, using the p/n of the roll. The BOM would just list the p/n for the roll of cable then, but on drawings it would display at the correct length.

I haven't started experiment yet, bu looking at NX120custom, and I know 1847+ are similar, do you put the PTC_ROOT, PTC_WF_ROOT, etc., in the NX120.bat, before it calls NX120common.bat? or keep them in NX120common.bat?
I have generally left NX120.bad as OOTB as possible, keeping the tweaks in...

"You can copy the CAD adapters so the users don’t have to integrate all NX versions manually (for the first start)."
by this, you mean take everything from "C:\PTC\.wf\.cadadapters" and put it with the NXcustom stuff (or some other network loc), so all users can see/use the same...
