How do I "Save As" or "Backup" an Assembly in Pro/E?

You need to create a seperate folder away from where you normally have files. I say this because I do not know how your system is set up. WindChill or Intralink. Anyway do a File/ BackUp Change the Look In setting to the new folder and hit ok. they go in as prt and asm files

    Flexible Component Modeling(?)

I am not real good at it but look into using mechanism to doing that. After a few tries I was able to make an engine gimble around so try it.

    Assembly Cuts, HELP

I thought about that but I could not figure out how to do that in assembly mode. I have gone part of the way with the cuts and holes and by the time I got to the 1500th cut it was taking a lot of regen time. No failures just taking a lot of time. I wish I could do this another way but they want...

    Assembly Cuts, HELP

There will be patterns, but a lot of different ones. Most of the patterns will be about 25 to 50 cuts. Some of them will be nested, (one assembly gets pilot holes and the next assembly puts the holes in more parts).

    Assembly Cuts, HELP

I have the assignment to figure out how to put over 10000 assembly cuts into a large assembly. 1st assembly gets about 300 cuts or holes, we have not decided which will be better. That assembly is assembled to the next level and it will get 500 more cuts or holes and so on. When I am thru there...

    putting x-sections hatching on layers

Thanks I think that will work. I don't think this engineer knows how to read and he is deaf when it comes to listening on how to do things the right way.

    putting x-sections hatching on layers

Does anyone know how to put hatching on layers so it can be blanked for a stupid engineer, or how to totally eliminate them from a view. He only wants them in certain views. God I love my JOB. Thanks Tim

    memory issue with large assembly

we are trying them but the assembly drawings need section cuts on them and shrink wraps don't seem to work well. I am not on this project but they are asking me questions and that was one of the first things I said too. Have you ever been able to do a section cut thru a shrink wrap? if so let me...

    memory issue with large assembly

I have a large assembly (memory usage 1.8 gig when retrieving) If I use a simplified rep using Grafics rep or geometry rep will this help me to work on the assembly better or is there a easier way. Second question is what is the best way to create them. I am using Pro-e 2001 Thanks Tim

Thanks. It is still up in the air.

    Intralink Help

I'm not sure how you would do that. I use frame manager to go back in my workspace to see iterations that I have done but if you go back and chage something you will loose everything newer than that iteration. I guess another way would be to do a save-as each time and give it _1, _2, _3 and then...

    Pro-e to Solid Edge

I have been working on Pro-e for over 7 years and now I am working for a company thinking of changing systems from Pro-e to Solid Edge. We have piping, harnesses, family tables and big assemblies with some relationships. Has anybody been through this change and can they tell me any pro’s and...

    How to rename any feature?

I'm new to this forum but there is a easier way to rename features. Go to view, model tree setup, column display, and move feature name to the right column. Now you look at your model tree and next to the feature pick in that column and type in your new name with no spaces and then pick out of...
