    Manufacturing Question - Milling Profile

You need to change your cut method! Try profile. If you don't already have it selected. Look at the boundry you created is the material side the correct side? How that helps a little. Brookey

NX 5 progressive die standard parts library

You have env variables that define where the lib is located all you have to do is make all of the computers look to the same dir and put all of the components in that folder. here they are" PDIEWIZARD_DIR C:\Program Files\UGS\NX 4.0\pdiewizard PDIEWIZARD_LIB_DIR C:\Program Files\UGS\NX...

    Ejector Pins In NX4

I see how you're using it. In that case you are correct, just promote the pins to the top level assy and the trim sheet. Promoting the same file many times is not a problem at all. I think you'll find that this will do what you need. Brookey

    Ejector Pins In NX4

Well does your ass'y structure have a "layout" file? If it does you should have a file under layout that is called "prod".. If your company hasn't changed the ass'y structure to something else. But it should be the sub ass'y that your core, cavity and parting files are in. Hope that helps...

    Ejector Pins In NX4

I just thought of one more thing to tell you. You might take a look at your ej pin clearance and make sure that you will have a good fit distance on all of the pins. Since the clearance depth will be the same on all of those pins. You might have to add some more fit length to the holes... Just...

    Ejector Pins In NX4

You would make the prod file your work part Insert-->associative copy-->promote.. Then pick the pins that you want to promote. Then you will be able to use a trim sheet to trim the pins to. Like I said before you will have to link the trim sheet for the core (if that is the side the pins are...

    Ejector Pins In NX4

One way you can do this without using mold trim (I don't use mold trim), is you could put all of the pins that you need in to the mold design.. Then you can promote them in prod file and use the core trim sheet to trim them yourseld(you will also have to wave link the core trim sheet to your...

    standard part dialog SLOW!!?

ARZinAZ Moldwizard doesn't have a preview, it's not like when you add a component with assemblies->add component.. It's a little bit different.

    standard part dialog SLOW!!?

If I figure out a work-around for this I will let you know. One thing you can do when you have your top ass'y up. Add a component and watch you prompt line and see if it is opening files up before you can place the component. I know in my top file I will have a lot of compnents set to an empty...

    standard part dialog SLOW!!?

Are you using mold wizard, or are you talking about just added a component? If you are using mold wizard, I know in a few of the nx4 releases a few things act weird. Ug tells me that some of those things are fixed in the latest release of nx4 and nx5. Moldwizard will load all components that...

    Creating NACA airfoil model

If you have the x and y points of the cross section you could make a spline through points from file. I just tried this. I went on the net and found the point data already in a text file. I just added a 0 z value to the text file. After that I made a spline through those points from the file...

    UG Spacepilot Configuration

Well on my computer I can find my 3dx software (if I have ug up) in the lower right corner next to the time on the start bar for windows. You should be able to double click on that and you can map buttons and change anything else you want.

Creating a solid from a Surface IGES/STEP file

It just depends on the model. If it is one feature that is a sheet body. Or if it is a bunch of surfaces that are not sewn together.

Creating a solid from a Surface IGES/STEP file

I have run into the same problem before. The way I would get around this would be to extract all of the faces from the surface model. After that sew them together and if you're lucky you'll get a solid model.. Hope this works for you. Brookey

How to get the unused expressions?

All you have to do is go to tool==>expression=> and under listed expressions change it to unused expressions.. This will show you all unused expressions. Hope thats what you wanted to know!

    sheet number

What I normally do is use part attributes in my detail file. In my case I use the same template detail file that I have created with 20 sht's in it. I have an attribute set up for total # of sht's. All you have to do is make the text in your title block look to a part atttibute. So when you...

sometimes when you use partial loading you can run into this problem....

    ! in part name

It means that a feature is out of date. If you look at the model navigator and turn on the out-of-date column it will tell you which feature is out of date.
