Sine filter for PWM inverter output

Rodar: "Dis 1" is also a Du/Dt filter ... Not a Sinus filter ... But a good paper, none-the-less. jO

Sine filter for PWM inverter output

Hi Skogs .. I think the problem in getting the response you asked for is that the parametrical and topological detail are within the domain of "proprietary" information ... and manufacturers of such filters are not inclined to give away the fruits of their labor and the keys to their...

ELECTRIC MOTOR SELECTION FOR A PCP PUMPS

Neca: The pump curves and the mechanical drive configuration are the minimum of information that you will need. Pump data/curves will give you information about the power required and at what speed ... The mechanical drive data will reveal how the motor is coupled to the pump ... i.e...

ELECTRIC MOTOR SELECTION FOR A PCP PUMPS

ElectricPete: PCP is a Progressive Cavity Pump see: http://www.alumni.ca/~hemme3a/production.htm and http://www.bakerhughes.com/investor/resources/pdf/Production.pdf See them often in Canadian Oil Fields .. Nasty Application for a drive as the shaft has a wind-up characteristic. jO

ELECTRIC MOTOR SELECTION FOR A PCP PUMPS

Do you have the manufacturer's pump data; i.e., pump curves that show flow, pressure, Power, speed, etc. ?

    An engineering oddity!

Take a look at http://www.howstuffworks.com/question375.htm There is a pretty good description with pictures of a magneto .. that I think will answer some of your questions, Scotty. Best wishes for the new year, j&#937

Motor Quality Issues, Fact or Fiction

DBaird: In considering your definition of Ambient Temperature, the question arose: What would the room temperature be if the object is installed in the great outdoors ?? Perhaps the use of Webster's definition of 'ambient' would better serve to define Ambient TemperatureAmbient: an...

    Rotor/stator capacitance in induction motors

Hi Scogs, Back in 1995, Messrs. Jay Erdman, Dr. Russ Kerkman, Dave Schlegel, and Dr. Gary Skibinski did some nice research on the subject. They published a paper on their research that appeared in the IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, Vol. 32, No. 2, March/April 1996. The paper is...

Effects of heat on a motors life

See: http://www.ecmweb.com/ar/electric_hot_issue_motor/ "As a general rule of thumb, insulation life doubles for each 10° of unused insulation temperature capability. For example, if you design a motor to have a total temperature of 110°C (including ambient, rise, and hot spot allowance)...

Three phase motor burns out every three years ? WHY

So, JB, perhaps you'd like to suggest a methodology to use to perform such analysis ... rather than to just throw our such a statement without foundation or without sufficient explication that would make it useful. Not saying you are incorrect, Joseph, but you really do need to provide more...

2.5X Freq. on 600hp Induction Motor

NRaaum: As we are analysing the case you presented, it would be helpful to eliminate voltage imbalance as a cause of vibration. So, if you have the data ... please advise the phase-to-phase voltage (hopefully at the motor terminations) .... Also, are the phase currents well balanced.... a...

    Induction motor class

JB: Joseph... you state that the NEMA design letters should be consideed during a motor-VSD integration..... But you neglect to tell us how they should be considered. Would it not have been more helpful to state exactly how they should be considered.... Perhaps you'd care to enlighten us...

    Velocity Circuit

The derrivative of position is velocity. Since you are starting with an analog... it would probably be best to stay with analog... and use Op Amp(s) to get your derrivative.

using 380volts rated motor on 415volts system

Engineer01: Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems you have described an IEC type motor (not a NEMA motor). Ergo, tolerances stated for NEMA motors may or may not apply to your IEC motor. Expanding upon Joseph Bartos' statement, consider:at 380/50 ... the motor is designed for 7.6 v/Hz at...

    Inverter Replacement, any effect???

Suggestion: Check the built-in Motor Overload Protection capability of the new 4-kW drive will properly protect the 1-kW motor. (Sometimes they have a limited range of coverage) If not... add a separate motor thermal overload relay, properly sized to accommodate the 1-kW motor.
