I have a slight problem using dimension function for this
item. I need to place a dimension parallel to the part and thru the radii centers. I have attached a pic to illustrate. Again, I will need a dimension from top center of radius to bottom center of radius, but not vertical , but parallel...
I am working with Solid Works 2011. Sometimes when I am dimensioning vertically or horizontally I cannot pick the second entity because the dimension text of the first pick is covering up the second pick. Is there a way to rectify this?
Thanks in advance
I am having a heck of a time using 3-D sketch. I am attempting to design a wire clip, cross-section is 2 mills. It has different angles and planes. Should I use line function or spline function?
Thanks.
I am new to solid works 3-D sketching. I am up to speed on sketching but am at a loss on how to modify the dimensions I add to the sketch. I double-click dimension with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.
I created an auxillary view and cropped a portion of it because I did not need to show all of the view for clarity. I added a few fillets to the associated model and added nomenclature to the drawing and the previously cropped view is now showing the full view. When I click on the view the box...
I am having a perplexing problem with Solid Works drawing.
I cut a section thru the middle of a symmetrical assembly. The
resultant section view has many dimensions and nomenclature attached. Somehow, the section line has moved from the center of the assembly. Has this happened to anyone here...
My bad CorBlimey,
Here is the forming tool file.
Thankshttp://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=dc32032c-88eb-439d-9eae-9170da6cce90&file=DIMPLE.SLDFTP
I need to create a retangular raised rib on a clip 1.6 thick. I created a forming tool and saved it to the library. When I place it on the face it tells me that "the part's thickness may not be compatible with this form tool. The thickness must be less than the minimum radius of curvature for...
I need to access forming tools folder to create a dimple on my sheet metal part. Am unable to locate this folder in design library. I am using version 2011 solid works.
Thanks in advance
I had to go to tools, options, and enable the view portion to "see" the flattened pattern. It works fine now. I really like this function. Thanks to all that responded!
Thanks for the response ShaggyPE,
However when I select Insert, I cannot locate
View, just drawing view. What am I doing wrong?
Do I create a view first?
Thanks again
I am creating a drawing using a clip that was
made using the sheet metal function. I placed a
few views of this clip on the drawing. I now need
a view of the clip flattened. Of course when I
do this all of the other views are shown flat. How
do I just show one view flat without affecting other...
Thanks for the reply corblimey.
The fix is I closed the drawing and it gave me
the option to save, I clicked yes. When I reopened
the drawing the save option was restored. Seems like
it was just stuck in some mode. Thanks for your reply.
