Seymore ,

You don't have to believe me, but

Beware of MBAs with quick solutions to complex problems ..... and dollar signs where they used to have eyes

Energy Vault Loses $1.2 Billion/40% Market Cap, CO2e/KWh Worse Than Natural Gas !!

Energy Vault’s solution which ‘fixes’ the problems with its first approach leads to CO2e per kWh numbers worse than natural gas generation, and makes a mockery of its claims of low cost storage.
Every time I read "Oh, but wait." in that article, this image from Flex Seal commercials kept coming to mind.

Beware also of tech-infused (and tech-confused) bright young STEM grads eager to bring us the app-ocalypse.

OOopppsies !!!!

ON BEHALF OF INVESTORS, Hittelman Strunk investigates Energy Vault's (NRGV) public claim to landing $520 million dollar revenue deal from DG Fuels.

May 06, 2022, -- It appears as if Energy Vault now has LEGAL challenges in addition to its speculative, expensive, carbon-debt laden, mechanical failure posing as an electricity storage solution.

A legal firm has filed a class action law suit on behalf of investors due to an alleged stock price inflation scheme. Per the announcement, Energy Vault paid a million USD to DG Fuels and in return DG Fuels agreed to buy $520 million USD worth of Energy Vault products. The lawsuit asserts that DG Fuels has no revenue and has nothing in operation at present, and that this was not disclosed to investors. This would constitute a violation of securities laws in the USA per the announcement.

SO, WHAT:

If you purchased Energy Vault stock (NRGV, NRGV-WT), you may be entitled to compensation without payment of any out-of-pocket fees or costs through a contingency fee arrangement.

WHAT TO DO NEXT:

To join the prospective class action, see prior press releases about the Energy Vault Securities Fraud Investigation:

Again, I wonder how much the principals socked away...

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

Summary: In less than one year this went from $0.5B investment to class action lawsuit.

Kudos to everyone here for their healthy, science-informed skepticism.

How many hundreds of millions of dollars have already left the country via CRYPTOCURRENCY ?

MJCronin

Well energy vault is based in Switzerland.. so their funding ($380 million so far) leaving the country has little to nothing to do with CRYPTOCURRENCY

Switzerland... has always had little or to nothing to do with CRYPTOCURRENCY BANKING TRANSPARENCY.

HEY, HEY HEY !!!!!

How about a trip down memory lane ? .... Set the Wayback Machine for 2006 !!

Does anybody remember the Plasma Torch Trash ZAPPER that was supposed to solve all of our energy problems ???

Where are all of our planet-saving, world changing infinite energy plants ? This has has been promised by MBAs since 2006 !!!

Why is Florida not being an energy leader, as they bragged about ???? .

------- WHY CAN CORRUPT MBAS CLAIM ANYTHING, ATTRACT BLOCKHEAD INVESTERS ANY FLEE WITH ALL THE MONEY ? ----------------

WHY DOES NO ONE FOLLOW UP ON THESE THINGS ?

MJC,

That was a fascinating post - You don't see as many of those nowadays....
What happened to those plants?

Didn't realise your errrr dislike of MBAs went back 20 years...

N. Korea is actively trying to steal cryptocurrency and have taken a reported $400B.
I guess they need it to feed their people.

I'm betting the people don't get fed :)

I can see these all over town in people's back yards.

A new player in this field is "Gravitricity"...,

They seem to use existing mine shafts to "game" their CAPITAL costs and attractiveness

Video Here:

I don't doubt it works, but the storage capacity is just sooooo small it's difficult to see it working to any even vaguely significant effect. The video said 24 MWh of storage. That's just unbelievably small. Even if all the mine shafts were possible to use and not full of water how may exist at the depth and are actually available? 50? 100?
