shocking evidence against arconic and kingspan. They carried out multiple tests that showed their claddings were insanely flammable, kept altering the configurations in order to achieve a test result that showed compliance, bullied the british product accreditation body to approve the products (which they did, and shouldnt have) then rushed out to sell their product on high rise buildings.

After that, they bullied the consultants to approve the use of their products on the buildings despite the consultants warning against using them.

negligence on behalf of the consultants, the builders, the accrediting bodies. Intentional malice on behalf of the material producer/suppliers.

Here is the solution:

Hi, I am looking to buy a bunch of cladding for a high rise building, look can I get a test piece independently tested by my chosen choice of testers?

See my wife worked for a Viet exporter of clothing that ships to the UK and other western countries. A container of clothing does not ship until third party testing is performed on test garments.

So, you have a test room where workers will make the perfect item of clothing, it then goes to testing. By this point the container is sitting at the dock. If the test fails, item out of spec, that container won't move.

So this concept that your going to buy cladding and not bother to have it independently tested yourself before shipping it, is crazy.

@AutisticBez

Most developers looking to build a building cannot afford to procure independent testing on every item that will be used on their building. So the designers/engineers/authorities rely upon test reports for the materials provided and approved by a regulatory body.

In this case, the various bodies that conducted the testing and approved the testing for the insulation and cladding products should have known better than to award them the fire retardant classification they were awarded.
