Do I need to replace the unit if this happens? If not, which part should I only be replacing?Hello everyone, I was wondering what it means when an RTU has CFM over amping
You should hire a technician to investigate and take measurements. There is a chance an engineer is required to determine what is wrong and what the solution is.Do I need to replace the unit if this happens? If not, which part should I only be replacing?
Thank you for the response, I just found out what CFM means here, its condenser fan motor. You should hire a technician to investigate and take measurements. There is a chance an engineer is required to determine what is wrong and what the solution is.
I have no idea what "CFM over amping" means. Too much current at a given cfm? How was it measured and who determined what is too much?
Filters clean?
"My car uses too much fuel. What could it be? But I don't tell you what car I have, nor how much fuel it uses, nor how I drive, or what else is going on."
Thank you for the response, I just found out what CFM means here, its condenser fan motor. So i need to replace just that.In full English this means Roof Top Unit has Cubic feet per minute (presumably air volume flow) over amping (seems to imply it is taking more electrical power than it should?)
As such the phrase makes no real sense as air flow has no direct connection to electrical current.
A guess is that the air flow is more than the roof top unit is capable of handling and is drawing too much power, but that's just an educated guess. The blind leding the blind here I think.
Definitely hire someone local to look at this.Thank you for the response, I just found out what CFM means here, its condenser fan motor.
