Ukraine and USA both said it was a Russian missile.

Yes and then a couple of hours later US backed down saying we don't know for sure that it was a missile fired by Russia.
And Ukraine sad we are sure it wasn't fired by us, then they too became a bit less sure.

So.. 🤷‍♂️ who knows..

There are many people from different countries there investigating right now..

they are pretty sure it's not now russian fired.

The missile type it was doesn't have the range to get to where it landed from Russian forces. Its a Ground to air defence missile and they think it was fired during the missile wave that was landing at the time to take out russian inbound.

This could have had it's own thread but since it is so difficult to get any correct info from Russia and it turned out to be the North Stream 1 pipe line that blow up I am putting it here.

News of the Armed Forces said:
The main gas pipeline near St. Petersburg, on which the explosion occurred, led to "Nord Stream-1" and to the Gazprom LNG Portova station, which was launched in September of this year.
Damage to the gas pipeline may cause interruptions in gas supply to St. Petersburg, including the Vyborzka, North and North-West CHP plants, which, given the cold season, may have unpleasant consequences for the residents of the region.

Damn British!

Einstein gave the same test to students every year. When asked why he would do something like that, "Because the answers had changed."

Hmm yea.. ;-)

From the site..

But the text says Volgodonsk which is a totally different place in Russia.
There is a place in Sankt Petersburg not far from the pipeline called Volgo-Donskoy Avenue though. [ponder]

Problem is all these ex-soviet industrial sites basically have the same construction.

They only had something like 5 workers apartment block designs. Its very hard to know where you are in the ex-soviet towns which ever country you are in. You can even spot the same flaw in each building of design number 3 be it EST, LT or LV.

All the reactor sites look the same as well.

I am wondering how much of the technical maint was actually done by western contractors with the oil stuff in Russia. Most of the pumps etc are western and now under sanctions.

I remember in Aberdeen that Siberia was a common destination for drillers in the 90's.
