Hi all
I have some question about attaching prefab balcony (steel or aluminum) to wood building.
The balcony in question is 5' deep x 10' wide.
I have not done like this before and unsure about typical details. I am thinking of adding PSL columns at the end of balcony for the cable and ledger to connect. And for the lateral, I was thinking about just aligning a beam across other side and maybe add strap to the post to beam. But there are locations where it is next to stair opening and some next to truss running in some 30 deg angle (exterior wall is skewed). Is there a better way to handle this scenario?
Prefab manufacturer is not selected yet and so exact orientation of cable (and so the load) is not firmed up.
Thank you for reading my post! I appreciate your time.
