LONDON, ONT. -- Several workers have been trapped after a building under construction collapsed in London, Ont. Friday morning.

Crews responded to 555 Teeple Terrace around 11:30 a.m. after a report of a partial building collapse.

Teeple Terrace runs east off of Wonderland Road South, south of Springbank Drive, and turns into Berkshire Drive.

Crews from the London Fire Department and the Middlesex-London Paramedic Service are working to pull people from the construction rubble.

Two people have already been taken to hospital, according to police, but there is no word on their condition.

My grandson, who is a mason in Windsor, told me that one of his workmates buddies was with the crew at the collapse and that failure may have occurred due to formwork overloading/failure during concrete placement.

That could match with what the video shows. It appears maybe 4 floor collapsed? Possibly a floor was being poured above the person who took the video? The floor at the level of the person taking the video appears to be poured and cured, as well as the lower ones.

If not that, then it is 3 floors and there was a construction problem that caused the floor where the person who took the video was to collapse as they removed the support for that floor.

They have recovered the final body who was reported still trapped in earlier articles.

This link gives a good overhead shot and an overhead video. They were pouring the top floor above where the person who took that inside video was. I would speculate the section to the left in the picture where the below floors collapsed was the starting point and then the decking collapsed to the floor below going right.
