BIGBADBTR:
I work for a Sheetmetal Manufacturer (basically a job shop)also. Since CAD implementation 18 years ago, we have had the same problem, and it still persists. Being a "job shop", we have over 200 customers at any one time, sending in all kinds of files from .pdf, .cal, .pcb to .dw2...
I have managed our companies design department for the past 10 years (worked here 21 years). We have a small engineering/design department which basically caters to our production plant. Anyway, part of the job requirement is estimating costs for customers new designs (we charge $70.00/hr for...
The problem was my video card, or should I say video processor on the mother board. I upgraded to a new video "card" (128mb minimum) and all is great. I purchased an ATI Fire GL T2-128 and no more blinking.
In Pro-E2001

I have been having the same problem. We currently have both Pro-E 2001 and Wildfire loaded but are only working in 2001. Sometimes I have no problems, and other times the screen flashes 10-20 times, and other times it does not stop flashing. This even happens in wireframe and shaded when...
Salaries / Housing......Salaries / Housing......Where to live?......Where to Work?.....Work in the city....bigger salary.....higher cost of living (smaller house).....Work in the burbs....people from the city move to the burbs......housing costs rise......cannot afford the burbs.....move out of...
Where is "save as"?.....I have "save", "save a copy" and "save as pic", but no "save as". None of them save anything other than the drawing (under the new name), and do not save any part or assembly files (under the new name). I am currently using Pro-E 2001, am I missing something? This would...
Another feature I forgot about within AutoCAD:
Follow the same steps previously mentioned except as follows:
Choose Acrobat Distiller instead of Acrobat PDFwriter.
As long as you have Adobe Acrobat, it opens the .pdf file within a few seconds automatically.
I am currently using AutoCAD 2004. Try this option that I believe is a standard feature of AutoCAD.
FILE > PLOT > PLOT DEVICE > (SELECT "ACROBAT PDFWRITER" FROM THE PLOTTER CONFIGURATION)
Please note that if any text and/or dimensions (in the AutoCAD drawing) are yellow, it does not show very...
Yes, I sometimes have the same problem. Since our manufacturing cannot hold a tolerance of .00000001", I don't let it bother me anymore. (Yes, at one time I tried to figure out why it was rounding it that way, but to no avail.) If you do find the answer, let me know.
Ozandincel,
We all know how tutorials are sometimes. Alot of time and effort wasted trying to find simple answers to simple questions. If there is sometihng you need answered quickly, or something you cannot find in the tutorial, just ask.
TheTick,
Thanks for the quick response. DXF worked. Some of the text expanded in length and the scale came in larger than expected, but overall it took much less time than if I had done it in Pro-E.

Is there any way to import text and/or graphics from Adobe Illustrator into a Pro-E .prt, .asm or .drw file? I need to create silkscreens or overlays for the parts I am designing, and have not found an easy way (in Pro-E) to create them. I have no problem creating the necessary files in Adobe...
