You shall model the entire structure incl. concrete and steel parts. Drifts will be larger in the steel structure as it is not that stiff as the comcrete one. Maybe some bracing would help.

modeling of the deformed geometry
apply horizontal loading
do nothing as imperfection will be introduces because of the small arithmetic errors within the computer calculations, such as 1e-10

This should not change. Shear deformation effects don’t affect the results of frames structures, as their stiffness matrix is derived analytically and not numerically. Consequently another setting may result with n that behavior, for instance the distribution of the loads to the adjacent frames...
