i have exported 3d dxf data before from various software packages(i think i have anyway, it was a lonnnng time ago)in your case, it would help to know the software that you were going to import it in with? is it from, for example, catia to autocad? i just tried to export a 3D from Catia v5...

i think we usually create a step 203, but i am not exactly sure...we usually go the other direction with that translation... iges should also work, but its not going to give anything but curves and surfaces btw- a lightyear is a measure of distance, not time

use the extract from seq command under the catia utils menu...that will extract any v4 data for you tools-> utility-> extractmodelfromsequential

hey, i had the same problem, i couldnt use the 3-button functions that allow to zoom, unzoom, rotate, and pan... ...i happened to be using a logitech mouse, and it had some specific software installed, i just uninstalled that software, and it works like a champ ever since...

you could always just isolate each view, its cheap and easy...the only problem is, at that point the isolated view is just a drawing view, it wont update for model changes... -nad3000

i work for a small aerospace manufacturing company as a tool designer. i use catia v5 to make machining fixtures and occasionally a check fixture or two. it can definatly be a rewarding job, especially when there is a lot of modeling and assembly to do... love the site and the group, look...

dont get discouraged man! catia v5 is a little intimidating, esp if you have never used parametric design software before...i started out on solidworks, and with a little help, was able to get going pretty good on it...then i moved into catia v5 and had very little difficulty modeling and...

so setting your newly created axis system as 'current' doesnt help?
