Certified SolidWorks Associate exam
The Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) exam is a three-hour on-line exam similar to the CSWP exam. This test is meant for anyone that isn’t quite ready for the full-blown CSWP, or for anyone who is thinking about...
That's true, but I would like to have custom hole types that would contain information specific to certain fasters...mainly with PEM's. I spend a lot of time typing out "FOR FHS-0420-8"...it would be nice if custom databases were easy to set up (maybe they already are).
I have a client that wants an e-drawing of a very large assembly.
Even on my computer, rotation and zooming is extremely slow.
My VAR provided no help or suggestions at all.
Are there any tips/guidelines I can try to speed up the e-drawing?
I have a recurring problem with drawings I haven't accessed for several months:
When I open a drawing, some components are hidden in the drawing, even if all components are shown in the Assembly. To show them, I have to locate them in the feature tree and RMB -> Show/Hide -> Show Component...
Thanks anyway, Brad.I 'm not as concerned with unwanted text editing as I am accidentally clicking one of the BOM lines when my views or dimensions get close. I think for now I'll stick with Excel for now - I've never had a problem with the functionality and haven't really seen enough...
I've always used Excel based BOM's without any trouble, but after reading this board, I thought I'd play around with some SolidWorks BOMs.
One thing I like about the Excel BOM is it the text always comes in on a single line, the cells fit perfectly, and you have to double-click to screw up the...
For future reference:
Before you open an assembly, click on the assembly you want, click "references", and you can replace the folder of specified assembly references.
I have had similar problems with the split command. I usually end up starting over, because it will always look for a parent that isn't there. Maybe try breaking external references?
I used to work with text and logos all the time, and you'll have the best luck using Solidworks fonts, IMO. This is especially if all you're doing is creating a custom extruded logo.
I have an ongoing problem with some detail views in assembly drawings.
When I open a drawing the first time, the model in the detail view is blank, but any annotations remain - if I switch from outlines to hidden lines, the view returns, and I can switch back to outlines and print.
Any...
MFDO, that's not a bad solution...not quite what I was looking for, though. I'd like all mates to automatically supress in inactive configs before I start adding new ones, and I would like components supressed as well.
smcm, I have, but there are too many mates to effectively manage in a...
I am working with old assemblies my company uses, many of which have anhywhere from 5-30 configurations.
My problem is that many of these files have "supress new features and mates" and "supress new components" unchecked, which usually doesn't work for what I want to do.
Is there any way I can...
Actually, I have long since given up on the slide and have began just using an additional angle mate to constrain the slide.
These are very large assemblies, and I would prefer not to have two sets of doors due to the amount of time required to completely constrain each individual door...
