Looked like it could be 50m to me.
Doesn't really matter if its 5 or 50. It's missing.

because they have no good reason to lie about it

That is until they figure out who did it. For that reason they will control the information as much as possible until they get a favorable outcome. No lies, just mystery.

Expressen is a evening newspaper, they are the ones that have filmed and released the video's of the pipe after the SE Prosecutors Office had finished with there investigation down there.
Expressen don't make the investigation.
Of course they want to sell as many newspapers as they can, holding back on things.
It is behind a paywall so I haven't read the whole story, seen all the photos or videos.

Under normal circumstances when exceptional things happens this newspaper can make research and come up with "theories" to sell more papers, what I am trying to say is that in this case they really wont need to make it up since they have researched it with there own underwater camera.

Whether the pipe was blown off in two places and floated away or in one end and ruptured in a welding seem in the other or if the SE Prosecutors Office cut it off and toke it away as evidence, is any ones guess right now.

Regardless I do not think it is still down there the SE Prosecutors Office would have located it and taken it away if it had ended up away from the pipe itself.

Cutting a section out for analysis is certainly a logical explanation for why a piece is missing.

Odd that nobody saw it come out of the water. I think back to incidents like the USS Cole. We all saw the hole in the side of the ship until they covered it. We all saw it get loaded onto the heavy lift with damage evident. One would think someone would see a 50m section of pipe being lifted out of the water and on to a ship.

For you LittleInch.

Gray areas mark oxygen-poor bottoms, where plant and animal life is often limited.

By virtue of the prosecutor's decision to cordon off the area corresponding to five nautical miles from the scene.

This was for both for vessels and aircrafts, someone might have been able to fly in a drone from outside the perimeter to see what was going on but that would have been illegal.

All news from the Swedish Coast Guard's published about the leaks

They did have the submarine rescue vessel HMS Belos there when doing researching it.

Reuters says Sweden is back on site doing more investigating. No other details.

Yes it is the military..

SVT said:
The Swedish crime scene investigation has been completed for some time now, but the Armed Forces have now seen their own needs to supplement the previously collected material.

- I can confirm that we are there with two minesweepers, says Jimmie Adamsson, head of communications at the navy.

The ships that recently arrived at the site are HMS Vinga and HMS Sturkö.

- Their main occupation is searching for mines or going down with submarines.
There is no connection to mines in this case, the connection is that they are equipped to carry out work and investigations underwater, says Jimmie Adamsson.

Have there been any findings that prompt your business?

- I cannot comment on whether we have found something or whether we are looking for something in particular, we are doing this out of a need for the armed forces, says Jimmie Adamsson.

The effort is expected to be completed this week.

Now a Russian flagged ship are in place to look at the pipes it is hired by Nord Stream.

The public prosecutor's office has decided that a supplementary crime scene investigation is to be carried out at Nord Stream, it is stated in a press release.

The Swedish Armed Forces will participate in the new investigations in the Baltic Sea, according to District Attorney Mats Ljungkvist.

The criminal suspicions concern gross sabotage against gas pipelines belonging to Nord Stream.

Swedes say they have been anticipating the NordStream AG survey of the damage for some while. Meanwhile Denmark has not finalized permits for their half, it was initially estimated 20 days, from the 4th, October, but NordStream AG is still excluded from access to their sabotaged assets. I think that those Germans are right, who openly accuse Poland and Denmark of this sabotage, both countries are antagonists of Germany, and now Denmark is acting blatantly suspicious by shutting their EEZ, plus Sweden won’t share intelligence, very fishy.

What's even stranger is finding out a number of days too late that only one pipeline was damaged.
Gazprom would know the size of the leak and location within a few minutes, yet its not for a week afterwards that we begin to see reports of damages limited to NS2-A pipeline.

False flag op.
Fill EU with fear, then as it turns out, Putin can offer salvation?
That also explains the sloppy job. At least I have always been wondering why o why, whoever did it, did not blow all 4 pipelines. Only knocking out 75% of capacity might be a very acceptable loss if Putin is canonised and turned into the god of gas.

In the USA we have endured 6+ years of blaming Putin for all of our woes only to find out it was all disinformation. Putin can't even commendeer a former satellite country. Putin is no longer a credible excuse for Western woes. We have reached the end of an era. It's time for the West to start being a bit more transparent. A secret investigation of a commercial failure is not transparent. Nordstream is a commercial pipeline.

It isn't fishy at all, it is just how our legal system works, the prosecutor always keep everything under lock and key under the preliminary crime investigation, it doesn't matter what crime is investigated, it is just so that no one can manipulate the investigation in any way.
I think that the Danish legal system is quite the same as ours.
You forget that, this isn't a accident investigation.

The crime scene investigation might have been finished but the preliminary investigation isn't.

Well you might say that they toke out 75% of the capacity 3 pipes out of 4.
But you are right, for Nord Stream 1 they came out and said almost immediately that there was a drop in pressure, but it toke quite some time before it was known that one pipe in NS 2 was okay..

Clearly the Russians did it.

The leaving one ns2 open was more than likely a ploy to force Germany to certify ns2 and bring it online.

That's failed though.

From Gazprom website

---> 3 Oct

"The pressure in line A of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline and both lines of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline have stabilized after the breaches, gas leaks have stopped," the holding said.

Gazprom is now pumping gas out of the intact Nord Stream 2 line to inspect the line’s integrity. The holding is ready to pump gas into the gas pipeline once it is decided to start deliveries via Nord Stream 2.

"Gazprom is working to depressurize line B of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. To do this, the company is pumping out the natural gas in the pipe. This will make it possible to safely inspect the integrity of string B, as well as to reduce potential environmental risks in case of possible gas leaks. If a decision is made to start deliveries via Nord Stream 2 Line B, natural gas will be pumped into the gas pipeline, after checking the integrity of the system and confirming this possibility by supervisory authorities," the company explained."

GAZPROM WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT IN 5min that there was a high probability that one was still working, yet it took a week to tell us there was still hope, when even knowing only one was left would have been quite a relief. Building fear. Obviously Putin's favoured tactic.
If it was a western op, WHY LEAVE 1 PIPELINE UNDAMAGED? We have, very conveniently for Russia, automatically assumed that, if we did it, our forces just screwed up as usual and couldn't manage all 4, but yet we easily assume 3 was definitely possible. I don't think I buy into that part, at least not 100%.

In which way would it make it "more" possible to check the integrity of the pipe by depressurizing it?
The only way doing it would be to x-ray the whole pipe and would there be a difference if it was filled with gas or not?
Or do they do it by sending a x-ray machine through it from the inside?
If there where some integrity problem with the pipe wouldn't it implode if you depressurized it then?
And if there was a problem would they not have seen a drop in pressure by now?

I really hope the convoluted conspiracy theories here are just larping. UFO theories sound quite reasonable compared to the Russians blowing up three pipelines - including two operational ones - so they can get one pipeline operational.

I guess it depends on what kind of perspective you have.

The Brits allowed the Germans to bomb out British cities during the WWII not telling the citizens to evacuate even though they knew they where coming.
Just so that the Germans wouldn't understand that that they had cracked the code of Ultra.
So a couple of thousand brits wasn't worth saving compared to winning the war.

Same here, 3 pipe lines which the Russians owns 51% of NS 1 and 100% of NS 2 is nothing in cost compared to the cost of loosing this war and the collapse of the Russian federation and Russia.

it wasn't just city's it was whole convoys that were sacrificed.

The one that can still supply is none operational, none certified and cost 11 billion.

It can't pump gas. And I suspect will never pump gas unless its sold and reconnected to either Finland or one of the Baltic states.
