You are showing your true colours, dik. But from some of your other detestable comments, I suspected that all along.

Hokie, you were the that suggested reducing populations to cut back the carbon footprint... You missed the most offensive ones... More interesting news:

"Amy Cooke, CEO of the conservative John Locke Foundation, expressed concern that preventing companies and their hired PR firms from spreading misinformation about climate change would have a chilling effect on free speech." It's amazing how they can spin this. [pipe]

You blew your credibility out of the water with that Socialist China link. I know I keep bringing it up but it's the most blatantly pro CCP thing I have ever seen posted on the internet. Your latest comments confirm our suspicions. It's time for you to do some reflection and walk back some of the things you have said. China is not a role model. Neither is Canada.

JMO but idolizing China in an emissions-reduction discussion is like idolizing an obese person in a weight-loss contest. Obviously the unhealthy can drop more/faster than those already healthy.

I only see China as a real problem, but not the worst one... I also see China as having come a long way in the last 50 years. Far more than most western countries. Looking at their major cities and infrastructure, they are on par with most western civilisations. My information is generally correct and there is no bias to it... other than countries that should be leading the way, aren't. You have to present all protagonists and based on the information available make a choice about who is dealing with climate change, with or without caveats.

You accuse China of having a large carbon footprint... the US footprint is nearly twice as high... that's the real 'number'... when that doesn't work you accuse China of using more coal than the US... yes they do, but Australia and South Africa use more than China. You fail to realise that their carbon footprint is still small compared to some other countries. You accuse them of being backward and not addressing climate changes, where with alternative energy methods, they are way out in front... vilifying me is not going to change these outcomes and is not going to improve the western carbon footprint...

I can deal with an adversary without vilifying him, first.

You're celebrating China spending more money on weight loss treatment while still gaining weight...

In short time China is set to exceed the USA's carbon emissions starting with the the discovery of fossil fuels.

Speaking of food, maybe China is offsetting their carbon emissions with all of that gutter oil? There is something evil afoot when such a problem is so widespread.

Here you are defending the worst government on the planet, just as we predicted. They're terrible overall but they say (not do) something you like so they're a tolerable evil.

Speculation, Tug... so far, according to data, they are doing OK. There is a lot more for them to do. If they had developed in the same manner as the US, they wouild be top... same with India. Unfortunately that title of being #1 is held by others. The tons per capita I posted earlier clearly shows where the problem lies and who is causing the problem.

Another interesting article from this AM. This could become something in the future. Rather than try to pin the blame on others, the effort should be going into fixing the problem. If you do not think there is a problem, then there is a fundamental disagreement. Strawmen (binary) aren't able to solve this problem or help.

Doubling down I see. Now it's environmental Communism that is going to save us?

All that is going to do is encourage 3rd world leaders to put all of their poor in flood plains so they can eliminate their undesirables and get paid when they blame it on climate change.

There may be things that are a lot worse... and the western democracies aren't exempt. We have to wait and see how this turns out. It may reach a point where it cannot be corrected or remedied.

The weather person showed the low pressure off california that normally would be up near seattle, and called it a stagnate high pressure just above state of washington line, and helping to keep the warm temps and block all our normal weather. They have their weather engineering down to a fine science yes the real weather and climate science. If all that they preach about the green this and that happened I just bet (predict) the weather would all return to normal instantly.

So let me make sure I have this 100% straight..

You believe that the quality of design engineering on consumer products generally, and specifically all engineering across the internal combustion engine space has degraded so significantly since the 40s and 50s that there are 'no real engineers anymore' (a thing you've said several times in your various engine-related threads)

BUT, AT THE SAME TIME,

Engineering has become so advanced that we can plan and execute fine control of global weather systems in order to prevent rain in some part of California in which you happen to live.

You actually believe that?

Easy, Swinney. Mechanics are to mechanical engineers that climatologists are you climate engineers. It's the climatologists that are getting things done, not the engineers.

You are an anomaly. You comment anti-capitalism rhetoric yet mostly share propaganda from the western banks.

From carbontrackers's website:

Carbon Tracker is an independent financial think tank that carries out in-depth analysis on the impact of the energy transition on capital markets and the potential investment in high-cost, carbon-intensive fossil fuels.

Your credibility dips lower every day. Please research your links.

Is that what you did when you started a thread on "Equivalent Climate Change", and posted a single author paper that states in the ethics disclosure that it is an "independent personal research project conducted at home at the author’s spare time"?

I suppose credibility has a lower limit, which suggests that you have very little left to lose.

What is wrong with that? Independent research is bas? What are you saying? Was anything in the paper false? Do you even understand what the author was trying to say?

One loses credibility when they drift away from climate change and start circling around climate justice. Reparations to Pakistan for their last flood is not constructive.

Is this before or after the Tonga volcano eruption injected a massive amount of water into the atmosphere that is going to inhibit ozone production?

More 1-dimensional thinking in a 3d world from the "scientists".

That in no manner invalidates the data. You consider both the source and the data. It's like 'big oil' insisting their right to publish false information is protected by the first amendment.

You comment anti-capitalism rhetoric yet mostly share propaganda from the western banks.

I have no problem with capitalism... it's unbridled capitalism that I'm cautious about. We are largely in this mess because of it. We are now paying for what many others should have paid for in the past. The First Peoples concept that we do not own the future, we borrow it from our grand children is apt. One of the fundamental purposes of a government is to look after the long term interests of the people; they have failed miserably. Off my apple box.
