Unless I am missing it, multi single segment profiles are not mentioned in 1994. Supplemental books of 1994 standard do discuss it, but they are but clear to me. I need to understand refinement of upper segment edge profiles. I think for both composite and multi single segment profiles it is clear the upper segment controls location. Again, I need to understand the difference of the two types of the refinements of the upper segments by the lower segments. Per 1994, section 6.5.9.1, the lower segment for composite profiles controls size, form and orientation(not location). For a multi single segment profile, the lower segment controls location, size, form, orientation. I also understand that the 1994 standard does not allow more than 2 frames in the composite profile case, but 2009 does. I say this because the spec refers to "both" segments in that same paragraph. Why is it not addressed?
