From their job description, "The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is an American scientific and regulatory agency within the United States Department of Commerce that forecasts weather, monitors oceanic and atmospheric conditions...", you'd think they might have a slight interest in climate change. The director of NOAA got a little annoyed when Lemon tried to make him link the severity of the storm to climate change.

It looks like the water has gone out to sea, to do other damage, but it might return...

and for good reason... connecting the two concepts, although scientifically correct, may not be politically correct. [pipe]

So Don Lemon is a scientist and the director of NOAA is a political hack?

Didn't say that, Tug... [ponder]

Sorry Tug... I saw photos of the desolation... not at all artificial. Knowing insurance companies, they will be bending over backwards to disallow any claims. I wonder how long people will put up with the governments' failure to protect the long term interests of the people. Off my soap box.

Your link said Ian would cause the financial ruin. However, there is supposed to be support from the government to prevent financial ruin. The government has decided that it will not help those in need, which will cause financial ruin. Therefore, the government is responsible for the financial crisis, not Ian.

With caveats, Tug... the article said, "Hurricane Ian is expected to financially ruin countless people in Florida whose homes were not covered by flood insurance when the storm inundated the region with powerful ocean surges and damaging downpours."

and not countless... the number of people on earth is finite... just a whole bunch. Even I understood that... The government's responsibility starts with their not addressing the problem, before it ever became a problem (for those that think a problem exists) and taking action to prevent it. [pipe]

The one chart clearly shows who is taking renewable resources to heart...

If you don't like the study, censor it. Typical of those who preach to their own audience.

dik's link said:
Four prominent climate scientists contacted by AFP all said the study—of which they had been unaware—grossly manipulates data, cherry picking some facts and ignoring others that would contradict their discredited assertions.

This is peak level projection right here.

or correct mistakes... it's called peer review, Hokie... [pipe]

Yep. That’s the way you do it. On a similar front, here’s the UN Secretary of Global Communications explaining how they are partnering with google to prevent climate change wrongthink from appearing in search results:

As she explains, they “own the science”, and no one else has any business appearing in search results but them.

The pretty graphic is designed to mislead.

This actually captures the effect of all the coal they burn, rather than dik's propaganda.
