They might have an effect.... in addition, the rising temperatures may increase the water vapour in the atmosphere. This may have additional consequences. [pipe]

Less drought is a consequence?

Increasing the water vapor in the atmosphere, even an eensy teensy bit, would cause a significant change in enthalpy and dampen the temperature rise.

Depends on where... ask New Zealand, if they are happy with their non-drought... or ask the American south west if they are happy with their water conditions... extreme weather may be in our future. [pipe]

Extreme weather is in pretty much everyone's future, at some point. It's nothing new. Some areas of the American southwest could definitely do with an increase in precipitation.

It will be interesting to see how extreme it will get. [pipe]

The longer you record a random signal the more 'extremes' you'll get. Since the instrumental record only goes back 140 years you get a reasonable chance of breaking records every decade. It's not weather, it's statistics.

There is no climate change it is geoengineering, done to support an agenda.

I just finished reading, "The Climate Book" by Greta Thunberg... it's a good read... well written and interesting.

Thanks, Tug... it gives a really great description of what is happening without mentioning the cause other that referencing it as an anomaly.

and the more buildings you design, the greater the chance for one 'falling down'.

It's like the statistician that was studying the probability of there being a b*mb on an aircraft and it was one in 30,000. The chances for two of them being on the same aircraft was one in 100,000,000. To be safe, he always carried one with him.

You can prove, or disprove, anything by statistics. Statisticians are like economists, or for that matter, like some engineers.

The book's a good read...

Does anyone else read this latest protest of hers and think that Greta Thundberg is showing how dumb and hypocritical her stance is?

Seriously, remember the "how dare you" speech talking about how world leaders refuse to act on climate change.... Then just a few years later she's protesting a clean energy policy because it upsets some reindeer?! WFT!?!

Either climate change is an existential crises or it isn't. If it is (as she has repeatedly claimed) then upsetting a few reindeer in an effort to move in the right direction on climate change is a small price to pay.

What it really is is the same crap that these folks always seem to say. We want change..... But, any change that you make we will complain about.

Its the same with Nuclear Power. If you're against Nuclear Power, then you don't really care about climate change. If you're afraid of upsetting reindeer or killing a few birds with wind power, then your objections speak louder than your actual words.

What the Greta Thunberg's really want is for everyone to voluntarily give up a 1st world standard of living, stop having children and let the economy tank in order to let the earth "heal". That's ignoring human nature and will never happen.

With time... you may have to give up something... we don't know how this is going to end or what changes are going to be necessary.

Well, not everyone :)

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

But, that would be due to scarcity, not some sort of economic seppuku. I do acknowledge that Thunberg does seems to intentionally sacrifice accommodations when she travels. Going by ship instead of plane and such. She's certainly not John Kerry who travels by private jet.

However, if CO2 emissions are so dangerous, then you simply cannot oppose any good faith effort to replace fossil fuels with some other form of power generation.
