Just like the potential loss of a 20 million dollar home doesn't mean much to them.

Maybe so, but you can bet your a$$ they'll be at the front of the line when FEMA shows up.

The problem with sloppy work is that the supply FAR EXCEEDS the demand

This grift has been and still being shilled by Paul Ehrlich, PhD and his ilk for 6 decades in various harmful mutations with dire predictions that never have come to fruition.

A tempest in a teacup!

CO2 a deadly menace? Laughable! But then we have "intelligencia" that cannot define what a woman is.

The emperor has no clothes!

The longer you record a random signal the more 'extremes' you'll get. Since the instrumental record only goes back 140 years you get a reasonable chance of breaking records every decade. It's not weather, it's statistics.

And if you continually adjust and smooth the past instrumental record (eg BOM’s homogenisation algorithms), you will find that all of the extremes occur in the most recent decade. They apply their sander to the past records, and surprise surprise the freshest records are rougher.

Good luck with that. BOM closed ranks before and will do it again. The whole point of BOM's long term recording system is to provide a background against which to measure global warming. That is what it is, by design. It's still quite amazing seeing the way they spring to their defenses to block enquiries. Even Paul Barry on Media Watch gets to work on Marohasy, shutting her down for being the dangerous "conspiracy theorist" that she is.

Yes, this happens every 10 years in Monterey Bay California.

Please, before you post your clickbait can you do some research into precedent?

I did... it's still within the current global warming period... and it will likely happen more often.

I guess we'll have to see how this all ends up... carpe diem... "Used as an admonition to seize the pleasures of the moment without concern for the future." [pipe]

You posted the same thing with a different abbreviation for a name.

UN climate report...

Let me guess, humanity is at a crossroads, climate disaster looms, but there’s still a window of opportunity provided we act urgently in slashing our climate emissions, otherwise it will be too late.

Let me guess, humanity is at a crossroads, climate disaster looms, but there’s still a window of opportunity provided we act urgently in slashing our climate emissions, otherwise it will be too late.

This sentence begs many questions.
a) What is "climate disaster"? You mean a pretty definitive increase in global average temperatures by maybe 3 degrees Celsius. I understand that there are a lot of POTENTIAL issues that go along with that. Rising sea levels (which we haven't really seen much of), increases in severe storms and such. These are certainly inconveniences. Disasters? Probably some. But, they're more nebulous to the overall population.

b) What do you mean by "our" carbon emissions? Those of us who live in the US? Those who live in western europe? Because, that just won't do it. No matter how much we slash our carbon emissions, if we can't find someway to FORCE the rest of the world (either with economic sanctions or by the point of a gun) to reduce their emissions then it won't matter. I'm talking India, China, Africa, South America. Anywhere where cheap and plentiful energy can lift their people out of abject poverty and dramatically raise their standard of living. If you think it's a hard sell to the rich nations, why would you ever think a poor nation would voluntarily reduce their standard of living (urgently?!) to avoid the possibility of global warming?

c) What do you mean by "slashing our emissions"? I genuinely know what you mean. Moving away from fossil fuels for power. Rich countries like the US can probably do this if we 100% embrace nuclear energy. But, there isn't the political will to do this right now (for some bizarre reason).
