Prepping kitchen carcase parts for cutting on a cnc tips please

Sir: Again ask your CNC source how he wants to locate the second side. Either by holes bored into the first side or a square corner. For your information, I once machined a few Hi Fi speaker enclosures for a friend. With a conventional end mill. I had a problem with the cutter chipping the wood...

Checking in part checks in drawing of reference assembly

ng89 Open Part 4 and delete references ect to the Assy. Re reference part 4 to its own grid Ie: dim in two or three planes, to 0,0,0 ref point. Make shure all is black!! save re open assy and re set part 4 as needed

    Assemly broken after mirror

Mr dimension I had the same problem a while back. If i remember correctly, you have to break references to the part that is the original part. Something about the references are also mirrored and the computor gaggs on the references that are mirrored.

    Brake bracket

Mr Rock I've made hundreds of brake caliper hangers, and you seem to be O.K. for design. I would put a small radius on your cutter,to help cut down stress cracking, especially where the caliper attaches to the hanger. 6068 or 7075 should work. Just for giggles, is there anything floating? I...

    Working in Comfort

Mr Iamas I went out a bought one, and when I quit that job, I took it with me.A few hundred buckos is a small price to pay, as opposed to medical bills for a neck (my case) or legs (your case)

Not sure how to get these two parts to fit together.

Daniel Here is a drawer pull I made a while back. I didn't show the small standoffs But asume you can get my drift. Art Lhttp://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=fbd94dfe-cc43-4978-b5da-056167addd5b&file=DRAWER_PULL.jpg

    Measurement Tool

Mr T I have always cheated when that happens, by either putting a point at the high point of the curve, or draw a short c-line at the point. Then I can dimension from the points, or lines. My be crude, but it works good enough for manufacturing purposes.Or checking purposes. You know where the...

    Used/ refurbished 3d Printers

Mr 28 In the long run, decided I did not have the volume to buy a new machine, and as Mr Flyer sezs, I felt the maintence of a used machine would be the same as buying a new machine on the installment plan. I ended up using my local VAR for the small quanity of rapid prototype parts myself and...

    Used/ refurbished 3d Printers

Mr 28 Try your local 3D sys var. Another place is Ebay,I was looking a few months ago, and those two were my best leads. You could also try trade periodicals, on line and hard copy. I found there is a big price differental when a model is phased out and replaced by a upgrade model. Wish you luck...

Install Manager finding old removed version

Scott I feel JM is correct. I use a freeware uninstall program called "RevoUninstaller" that seems to do a good job getting all of the hidden directories pointers in the Reg directory.Revouninstaller.com

    Exploded assembly and parts disappear

Dawg I had this problem years ago. My problem was not enough memory, plus wonky video driver. You seem to have the memory locked, but you could try to remove video driver you are using, and reinstall older driver. For some reason, sometimes the latest and greatest, isn't.It's only a shot in the...

Fill Patterns, Margins, looking for a way

Mr B What are you trying to do? Make a consistant pattern from the center out, or from the buondry/ edges in? How are you going to cut the sharp corners on the 1/2 circle pieces? Where is the trade off acceptible? From what you describe ,there probibly will be a trade off some where, to...

    Partial section missing many components

Mr Truant The only time I had that happen was with a large assy and not enough video memory. What I did, because I only needed a visual of the partial assy was to "save as part" for the whole assy, assign a new P/N, section the "part" and all appeared.

Standard (Or Generally Agreed) Method For Measuring Run-out

Mr 888 I'm not really familar with large enfines, but smaller engine cranks are ground on centers previously machined into the billet or forging/casting.the journals, rod and bearing, are "crush ground" on the centers. In machine shops, this is checked, as it is ground, on centers. I assume V...

    Enclosed chamfer

Mr Faster Being 2 1/2 times your age, metrics are new to me!!! I used imperial because I don't need a cheat sheet to know what fractions transpose to. Have a good day!!!

    Enclosed chamfer

Mr, Hitit Offset would be.150" - sorry about that.

    Enclosed chamfer

Hititfaster - You are correct!!! The other options suggested, need the part or head / spindle to be moved. Not a really good idea if cost is a factor. Yhe only thing I would change is don't make the "inverted cones" at the end of the chamfer to come to a sharp point.center cutting with a 45 deg...
